LAP BAND

approaching 30 day point

Published in

I'm nearing the 30 day mark (this coming weekend) from my surgery. Overall I have been feeling really well, no problems with the band itself...but the port site is still very painful - owie!

Since my initial intake appointment, I have lost 30 pounds -- 10 prior to surgery, 20 since. I'm pretty happy with those results, but I know that things will slow down once I get on the regular diet.

The hardest thing for me is the water issue, it isn't hard for me to drink it - i love it. It's hard not to drink before/after meal, or not to drink too much at one time. but I'm working on it.

Where is everyone? Newly banded

Published in

I have had my band for a week and a day - I am surprised at how little activity there is on these forums, and how old most of the posts are.

In any case - I'm on my full liquid diet and was looking around for suggestions. I'm not too keen on protein drinks, etc. as they are too sweet for me and make me gag; I was hoping to find some suggestions here.

I finally scoured the net and found some other forums with great suggestions and that has helped tremendously.

So I hope any other newly banded patients will gather round and let's build a community here.

Hi everyone!

This is your friendly monthly reminder for our lapband support group. We'll meet the First Thursday of November, the 6th, at the Marysville YMCA next to Allen Creek Elementary (6420 60th Drive NE). Time is 7:45 to 9:00 (new start time...7:45 NOT 7:30), in the multipurpose room (the back room in the main building).

I know we're just starting into the busy holiday months so it's a really good time for some extra support to help us through all those holiday pitfalls!

Day 5 and not sure what I am supposed to be doing!!

Published in

I recieved my band on Monday Oct. 6th and I "think" I am doing okay I am somewhat confused by what I am to be doing except trying to heal and get in enough protein and water that is needed. I am not sure I know what I am doing I could really use some help and encouragement. I am doing okay on not being hunger but I feel like I have put my life on hold so I dont' mess up. I don't feel I got enough intruction on how this tool is suuppossed to work. I think I am over doing it on somethings like portions and underdoing on the rest.
