If you have never heard of a DVT or PE, that's good news because it means that you have probably not encountered these potentially deadly medical conditions.  However, as a bariatric patient – especially in the early postoperative period - you are at a much greater risk for this disorder.

I just received a Lap Band last Thursday. It is now Monday and I am starting to go stir crazy. I know I need to limit my activity but for how long?

When can I go for a walk?

How long do I wait to start jogging?

and how long should I wait before I start lifting weights?

I guess what I am asking is how do you know when your ready to add more activity? I dont want to over due it and have and injury or complication.

How much is enough?

I'm currently working out 30 min. of cardio 4 times a week and adding some weight training a couple days...will I need to add to this routine to continue my weight loss? How much exercise is enough to LOSE and not just maintain?
