Make a resolution to live better...read more....

We love New Year’s resolutions. They represent our inherent desire to move forward in our lives in a positive way. We possess instinctual behaviors to grow. Because of our desire and curiosity we started by reaching out to touch something, then we crawled to approach it, we then stood up and walked towards it. We learned to handle it, move it, manipulate it and conquer it. We still continue to move forward in different ways. Here is a long list of popular resolutions that promote a step forward. Just reading this list can inspire us to take control and move towards a more well being.

New Recipe from a Pacific Nutrition Wellness WLS patient

Hi,
Here is a new recipe that a WLS patient gave me today. Just wanted to share it with the rest of you.

"Fried Mozarella Stick- WLS style"

Crush Fiber One Cereal. Add seasonings to crushed Fiber One such as Italian seasoning, parsley, and salt/pepper. Dip string cheese into egg or egg substitute. Roll in Fiber One and seasoning mixture. Bake in the oven 350 degrees until done to your likeness.
Enjoy!
She said even her husband liked these ;)

do you feel this way?

Please can some one tell me what I'm supposed to feel like?
four weeks out and I'm confused!

not feeling much restriction

I'm not really feeling much restrition from my first fill. I still feel like I have to force myself to stop eatting so as not to overdo it in one setting. I'll see how things go over the weekend.

I'm working hard on regulating the water with my meals - i'm not quite getting to an hour after meal, but I am at least waiting 30 minutes. I am also working on making sure I have at least 15 minutes prior to eatting without drinking any water. It's a new habit, i just need to learn to manage it.

First Fill Today

I had my 1 month nutrition assessment and first fill today. Things are going great so far, but I know that the weight loss will start to slow down now and I'm okay with that.

3cc fill today - dr. suggests that the next fill be under fleuroscopy as well as it took just a little wiggling to get in the port.

Gastric Band Newbie

Hi, just had the surgery Monday the 13th. I'm feeling ok (kind of like I've done 8 million ab crunches in a row) but also feel really bloated/gassy. Almost like my upper torso is expanded, bleah. Any thoughts, suggestions?

Excited and disappointed

Super excited that since my first Pre-op appointment i have lost almost 30 pounds. I am so disappointed that all the protein supplements are too sweet, and they use aspartame or sucralose as the sweetening agent. I know, I sound like a broken record.

another day

I am doing better finding different things to eat - and i'm adding the unflavored protein poweder to almost everything. It definitely gives soups a foamier consistency, but i can get it down better than the other sweet protein supplements i've tried.

I've ordered some samples of some other concentrated liquid protein supplements that i think i could put in my water and lessen the sweetness factor that way.

One month until the gastric sleeve!

Hi all
I have just returned home to Pitt Meadows after having my lapband removed. I had this tool for 7 years and lost about 70 pounds with it. I had a very rough journey with it and now I am looking forward to the gastric sleeve operation on July 24th.
Is there anyone who has had the sleeve who could give me some insight into what to expect post op?
thanks so much
Lois
